Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are happy and honoured to organize and host the 21st Annual Meeting of
the European Society for Computing and Technology in Anaesthesia and Intensive
Care (ESCTAIC) at the VU university medical centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands
between the 6th and 9th of October 2010.
The initiative of ESCTAIC dates back to 1989 when a small group of technology
and computing enthusiasts decided to organize a first exchange forum for
clinical anaesthesiology and technical disciplines, electronics, engineering
and ergonomics. And over the years ESCTAIC proved to be very productive.
Since then 20 successful meetings have been held all over Europe - from
Aalborg to Zurich including such fascinating locations as Glasgow, Palermo,
Budapest, Trieste, London, Erlangen, Milano, Toulouse and Goldegg - attracting
participants from all over the world - not only from America and Australia,
but also from Asia and the Middle East.
Our last meeting in Berlin with participants from 25 countries showed that
the concept of ESCTAIC to provide an informal atmosphere for technicians
and doctors to meet and exchange ideas on the above mentioned topics continues
to generate enthusiasm.
With the organizational and academic support of our four sister
societie
